Friday Discovery Time

On Friday afternoon we have discovery time.  Our teachers set up different activities and set us some challenges based around our keys for learning.  One of our activities was making ice-cream.  Yum!  We had to organise our own groups and work together.  Eating it was definitely the best part.

This is how we did it.  Try it at home.

Ice-cream Recipe

You will need:

• a zip lock bag
• a large screw top jar
• ice
• salt
• 2tbsp icing sugar
• 150ml milk
• 2 tsp vanilla

Instructions:

1. Into the bag put the milk, vanilla and icing sugar.
2. Place some ice in the bottom of the jar.  Sprinkle some salt over it.
3. Put the bag on top of the ice.
4. Put more ice on top and sprinkle with salt.
5. Screw on the lid.
6. Shake and shake and shake!
7. Keep shaking until the ice-cream thickens.
8. Serve up and enjoy!
