Every Monday we go to the science room for science with Stirling. This week we were asked to predict what would happen as Stirling performed some experiments.
We started with balloons held over a candle. The first one popped, the second one didn't. Can you think why the second one didn't pop? Ask your child to explain. Next Stirling pushed a skewer through the balloon. We all covered our ears because we expected the balloon to pop. The first two did but the third one didn't. Stirling changed things for the third balloon. We finished the session making erupting volcanoes. We learnt that certain substances, when mixed, react with each other. We had lots of fun!
