Peter And The Wolf
On Tuesday morning we set off for the Theatre Royal to see a performance of Peter And The Wolf by the Nelson Academy of Dance. We all went in the bus.
We were impressed with the costumes, music and the skill of the dancers. We were shown how Grandad used make-up to make him look old. There were some funny bits in the show too. The duck was very cheeky as she shook her tail at us!

Sacha's great masterpiece
This week for news, Sacha shared with us a sewn mural she made with her Mum. We all thought she did a wonderful job. She used fabric paint to add detail and colour. Judy loved the clouds and the addition of grass using long stitches. Sacha loved her rainbow. She didn't have to sew in a purple strip as she was able to use the background colour. We were so impressed with Sacha's efforts that Judy is going to put out some things to sew at Discovery Time. Well done Sacha!

Maths on Friday
On Friday's we work together on games and activities that help us learn our basic facts.
All the activities let us work at the level we are ready for.
Today we used dominoes. We had to add all the dots and place the domino on the chart showing the total number. We are all able to count the dots one by one. Some of us know the answers without counting. Sometimes we make the pattern with our fingers then recognise the number because we practise our finger patterns. If we are unsure what the digit looks like, we count up on the number line.Monday, August 2, 2010
